TECHNOLOGY & HUMANITY:
EXPLORING THE IMPACT OF DATA-DRIVEN TECHNOLOGIES ON HUMAN DEVELOPMENT
4th SNAS Interdisciplinary Research Conference
Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU), Madison, NJ
October 10, 2025
Nature and Scope of the Conference:
We invite academics, researchers, graduate students, and professionals to submit research abstracts and presentation proposals for the upcoming SNAS Interdisciplinary Research Conference on “Humanity & Technology.” This year’s theme explores the emergence of data-driven technologies and their profound impact on human development.
Over the past two decades, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning have transformed data-driven technologies, enabling autonomous data analysis, pattern recognition, and predictive modeling. These advancements are reshaping human interactions, decision-making, and problem-solving. The conference will examine the intersection of technology and humanity, addressing how these innovations influence behavior, societal structures, ethics, and the future of human existence.
We welcome submissions that contribute to this discourse, particularly on the following topics:
- Exploring the ethical challenges posed by AI and automation in society, impacts on employment, privacy, and social inequality, and addressing algorithmic bias and accountability in AI systems.
- Cybersecurity and digital safety: blockchain, cryptocurrency, and the future of economic systems
- Human decision-making in a tech-driven world; the impact of digital technologies on human self-perception and identity and the intersection of virtual reality, augmented reality, and personal identity
- Surveillance, privacy, and civil liberties; ethical considerations in data collection, surveillance, and consent.
- Safety and security in emerging technologies: misinformation, deepfakes, and digital manipulation.
- AI and ethics in healthcare: Redefining patient care; the role of AI in diagnostics, personalized medicine, and treatment.
- How emerging technologies can bridge educational gaps across different regions.
- The psychology of human interaction with AI: the role of emotional intelligence and empathy in AI interactions.
- The future of human-machine collaboration and how human workers and AI-driven technologies can work together effectively.
- The impact of AI on governance, public policy, and transcultural issues.

Conference Proceedings:
If you would like your research to be included in the conference proceedings, please separately submit a three to five-page summary of your research to info@snascholars.org. Only presented research studies will be considered for publication in conference proceedings. Your submission should be in Microsoft Word, formatted in Calibri, 11-point font, double-spaced, with references excluded from the page count.
SNAS Doctoral Research Grant:
SNAS invites applications for the SNAS Doctoral Research Grant, a $500 grant designed to support travel and lodging expenses for current U.S. doctoral students. To be considered for this award, applicants must submit a separate application to info@snascholars.org in addition to their regular conference submission.
