SNAS Interdisciplinary Research Conference 2023
The Society of North American Scholars (SNAS) organized its first academic research conference on October 8, 2022. The virtual gathering attracted an interdisciplinary network of scholars who presented their scholarly work related to the conference theme, “Balancing Rigor and Relevance: The Role of Social Impact in Academic Research.”
Research Apprenticeship Program
Institute for Academic Excellence (IAE) is a professional career preparation program offering research and career mentoring. Premium Program: Participants in this track join a research team to gain research experience and earn authorship due to this collaborative work under the supervision of a research mentor. This mentorship track requires monthly meetings/communication, 15 dedicated meetings for this research project. In this track, participants receive both career mentoring and research mentoring. The research mentor supervises research mentorship. Career mentoring will be designed based on the needs and questions of the mentees.
Academic Career Mentoring
Institute for Academic Excellence (IAE) is a professional career preparation program offering career mentoring. Advanced Program: Participants in this track are matched with a mentor, an established leader in a relevant area who can provide individualized guidance and coaching on the topics identified by the mentor and mentee based on the professional career goals and the needs of the mentee. The advanced program begins with goal setting and action planning to be implemented during the year’s meetings. This form of mentorship occurs through regular (monthly) check-ins and conversations with the mentor. Eight formal meetings will be held. These meetings can be one-on-one or in a group setting. The mentor in this track sets no agenda. Also participants will have access to monthly chat hours with U.S. professors.
IAE 2023-2024 Academic Year Curriculum Schedule
Academic Year Curriculum Schedule. Institute of Academic Excellence Mentoring Program will start on October 19, 2023. Mentoring program provides comprehensive mentorship support for master and P.hD. students who are interested in future careers and collaborations with US institutions may benefit from this program as a career transition support.
